Battlefield Podtours are committed to providing easy to use, comprehensive, self-drive guides to help the casual visitor get the most from trips to famous battlefields of the world.
Until now, the choice has been to either go on an organised tour or find ones own way around with maps and guidebooks - of varying usefulness -  working to someone elses timetable or often missing sites of great interest because one didn't know of them or just ran out of time.

Using and developing modern technology, Battlefields Podtours are mp3 tours you can play on your ipod, mp3 player, pda or even many mobile phones which will guide you - at your own pace - on a comprehensive tour of your chosen area, supported with maps and directions.

All our tours are written and narrated by experienced battlefield guides who frequently take visitors to these iconic sites - and some little visited ones as well - communicating both the history and the human story, supplemented by their own experience.

It's like having your own personal tour guide in the car (or on the bicycle) with you.

Continuously developing tours, presently available for download are:-

including an ALMOST Free Sample walking tour of Ieper (Ypres), the mediaeval Flemish weaving town at the epicentre of one of the most infamous sectors of the front - The Ieper Salient, the original Flanders Fields.

* Payment is by PayPal and can't cope with zero pounds! If you don't want to use PayPal for this, request the free sample by email and we will email one back to you.

The following Battlefield Podtours are in development:-

Normandy D-Day Landings

The Somme

Vimy to Compiegne

Waterloo

In addition, as well as mp3 tours we will be producing interactive GPS tours to run with the major GPS devices and also downloadable "fact-files" (including alternative activities for less interested members of the party)

Please email us if you have any suggestions for future tours or even if you just need some help in planning a battlefield tour.
